My skinny jeans don’t fit?

November 5, 2009 by J Housley

Let’s see, I think I’ll wear my super skinny jeans today; haven’t worn them in a while. Oh, hell to-da-naw! Why can’t I get them above my hips? I don’t care! I am NOT, I will NOT be buying a bigger size!!! I refuse to provide accommodations for the fat. I will just have to bust out of my clothes like a Ball Park frank until I loose this extra 10 pounds. That’s my trick to staying slim, because I know that once I purchase the next size up, I have just agreed to allow that extra fat to take up residency on my ass, rent free! Hell, I won’t even allow a relative to stay at my place for too long, so you know the fat has got to scat. Utt-Ohh, did I make a rhyme? Look out Soulja Boy…

But, seriously, I know this is a touchy subject for a lot of women, me included. Weight gain and the effects it plays on my self-image has always plagued me.  Now, I am not what most would consider a “big girl” However, I have always struggled with the yo-yo and juggle of an extra, unwelcome 10-15 pounds. I prefer to maintain a certain weight and when I get heavier, the excess weight wrecks havoc on the way I view myself, especially when my clothes are too damn tight, this diminishes the confidence I am able to exude and I am NOT a fan of ANYTHING messing with my self-esteem. This means WAR! I constantly fight back by consuming small snacks, every 2-3 hours, along with a portion-controlled diet, coupled with at least 30 minutes per day of exercise. Btw, sex counts as exercise too you know. Yippie!

Portion controlled diet for me means that my entire breakfast, lunch and dinner fits into the palm of one hand. I know you’re thinking that you can’t possibly do this because you’ll still be hungry. But, remember you’ve been snacking ALL DAY!!! Listen, this has been my saving grace when I fall victim to the Chunky Chips Ahoy. Believe me, it works and it could possible be the trick you need to maintain your desired weight and image as well.

Juicy Girl’s Skinny Tips:

*Eat small, healthy snacks every 3 hours to ward off false hunger. Raisins, almonds, fruit, yogurt etc.

*Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t like it. 4 ounces every hour, it will make you to feel full and help to keep your skin clear.

*Jumping Jacks, Swats and push-ups are my favorites.

*Eradicate the junk food/snacks from your pantry!!!! You know if it’s within reach, you’re GOING to eat it.

*Stay focused on getting back into your wardrobe & DO NOT purchase the next size up, or you loose and the fat wins.

**Here is a little regimen I like to use to give me a jump start. It’s pretty intense, but if you have will will power it works. Please let me know if you have tried it and what were your results

***Prior to any exercise, diet or weight control plan, seek the counsel of your physician.

If you have any weight control tactics, weight loss regimens or techniques please post it in your comments so we can all keep it sexy!

J Housley About J Housley
Who is J. Housley? This is me about thirty something years ago, cute huh? Even then, I always had something to talk about. I wanted to find a clever way to introduce myself to the Juicy Girl Talk community. So, I said to myself, “self, why not give the world your recipe?” And here it is, the ever-evolving recipe of me: Mix 2 parts witty, 3/4 cups determination, 32 ounces of candor, 2 gallons of excellent friend, 1 pint seriousness, a bit of sassiness, 1/2 jug optimism, a pinch of patience, 20 years of motherhood, 20 years of hair styling, several mistakes, a heap of advice, a cauldron of opinions, a pot of craziness, a lot of lessons, 6 liters of sexiness, a scoop of fashionista, loads of understanding, a handful of assertiveness, 1/2 drip shyness, countless drops of education, an unlimited amount of love, compassion, intelligence, and generosity. Now, throw in some brown sugar and bake, beat, blend, braise, broil, simmer, sift, shake and saute for about thirty plus years or so, or until golden brown. And there you have it, J. Housley. A little brown girl saying all the things you want to say and then some…

Ladies, I have an awesome tip for you. When your jeans are just a little too tight due to a little weight gain, just put some water in a spray bottle and lightly mist your jeans before you put them on. They will stretch out enough and when they dry they will fit comfortably! Hope this helps with the tightness.
