PRODUCT WHORE

I’M A PRODUCT WHORE!

There,  I said it, now it’s out and everyone knows it. I have officially accepted my insatiable love affair with products. Which, by the way I have had ever since I was old enough to crawl. I can remember having a hobby of mixing hair products together in order to get my hair to behave. See, my mother didn’t believe in relaxers at the time, she said I was entirely too young – me being innovative and precocious, I just had to do something, so I started mixing, concocting and wasting all of my mother’s beauty cosmetics until I formulated the perfect products (perfumes, soaps, lotions, nail polish and hair junk.) Oddly enough they worked! I would use them on my friends, family and anyone who would allow me to experiment. From there, my hobby grew into a passion, then my passion grew into an obsession. Now,  several years and later, here I am with a wealth of consumer knowledge and an astonishing collection of products, products, and more products. I LOVE THIS STUFF!
Nothings off limits, I gotta have it; any and all types of products including but not excluding: shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, hair mist,  gloss, wax, tamers,  fortifiers, hair vitamins, anti-frizz, setting lotions, hair potions, relaxers, texturizers, perms, liquids, mousse, creams…  Now what good is knowing about the hair products if you don’t know about the hair? My love affair with hair has led me to spend almost twenty years in the hair & beauty industry. Currently, hair extensions and hair weaves are my addictions of choice. I have the inside source on what types of hair are worth buying, which ones will ultimately end up in a birds nest and which ones will give you the best illusion for your buck.
My whorish (product) ways extend far beyond hair related items.  I’m also in love with body, skincare, nails, cleaning and OTC’s  as well.  Ahh, not quite finished yet, I certainly can’t forget all those delicious perfumes, soaps, body oils, washes, lotions, loofah’s and scrubs. Then there’s the face powder, bronzers, mattefiers, lip sticks, eye shadows, mascaras, eye pencils, nail polish,  hair clips and the one product I absolutely can not live with out – lip glass! I mean, a girl’s gotta have shiny-pouty lips right? And last, but definitely not least, I absolutely adore hair appliances, I refuse to live with out them! When I get a new one I’m like a kid on Christmas morning! I know what’s the best, worst and what every girl absolutely must have in her hair styling arsenal. Everything from dryers, to curlers, flat-irons (ceramic – Ionic –Tourmaline – PFTC)… You name it, I’ll let you know if it’s worth buying.
I have researched, experimented with and tried just about every type of product imaginable. Got a problem? Chances are I know of a product for it. Want to know about a product? Chances are I can tell you about it. If you want any advice of the beauty-product type,  I’M YOUR CHIC. Can’t help it,  I was born for this stuff and I LOVE IT!
Since I have all of this useful information stored in my memory bank,  and selfishness has never been a quality of mine, I’ve decided to share it with everyone.  I’ll be posting my “Product Whore Picks” along with professional recommendations and tips.  If you have any questions or need advice  feel free to leave it in the comments section and I’ll reply to you as promptly as I possibly can.
Pssst, between you and I, shoes, purses, bangles, designer jeans and anything that blings?  Gotta have it!  Hey, at least  I’m taking the first step towards recovery… Lol
Here a just a few of my personal  fave – product suppliers. The prices are great and I can usually find whatever I’m looking for.

I will be adding other suppliers to the list

Can you recommend a good hair dryer that is not too expensive? I have naturally , thick hair and from what I hear its all about the blow dry. So I need a good one that will get my roots straight without burning off the ends because I’m relaxer free!

      Hi LaNese,

Thanks for trusting in my recommendations enough to inquire.
A good hair dryer is definitely the key to getting that bounce’n & behave’n look, and with hair that’s chemical free, this can be a bit challenging unless you have the proper tools. The styling tools and products will make all the difference, especially when you are maintaining your own hair. Although budget may be a concern, remember that you get as much as you pay for & why pay less if you won’t be satisfied with the performance of the product, your frustration will only lead you to make an additional purchase – translation? Spend MORE money. I have a few recommendations for you and they both can be found by clicking the Ulta banner above and selecting “Styling tools,” Then select hair dryers over $30. The first is $59.99 – It’s the Hot Tools Ionic, Ceramic with 1875 Watts (the black one.) It will leave your hair soft, manageable and straight. The reviews were great and for the price it will do the trick without singeing your hair. If you can splurge a little more, I would HIGHLY recommend the Super Solano 1875-watt PROFESSIONAL dryer, it’s $119.95, a bit price I know, but IT’S WORTH EVERY PENNY. I can’t say enough about this dryer, it has the capability of letting you produce that “just left the salon” look at home. It leaves the moisture in the hair, which is what allows it to remain soft and frizz-free. It’s a high-heat, professional dryer but it won’t burn or dry out your ends, which is what leads to split ends and constant trimming.
FYI: Remember to always protect your hair with a moisture rich, leave-in conditioning product prior to blow drying.

      Hi LaNese,
I found the more expensive hair dryer – 119.99 for $91.60! Just click on the banner above for hair products.com and select “hair dryers.” And they have free shipping so you could save around $40. I hope you find this information useful.
