You Can Do It!

November 15, 2009 by J Housley

I know there are lot of people just yearing to become entrepreneurs. You may have an idea, skill, talent or gift that you have let lie dormant for one reason or another . Please DO NOT IGNORE it. I truly believe that your can have, be and do anything that you put a concentrated effort into as long as you have faith and an honest belief in your entrepreneurial abilities. I’m not saying it will come easily, but, what I am saying is that if your desire is strong enough and you are willing to do the work you have conquered a majority of what is necessary make it happen.

Many of us simply need a little push, some encouragement or a bit of spark to ignite a furious flame. I know of a lot of people who would much rather be working for themselves, but they are afraid because either they’ve become too accustomed the “false security” of the corporate world, someone close to them has made them insecure about their idea,  or they lack the confidence and or capital.

NO only means NEXT! Just because something doesn’t work out the first time around doesn’t mean you quit. It simply means you have to regroup, reassess, reapply, find another route and learn from your mistakes along the way.

You may be afraid to step out on faith but just do it, do something, start slow, but start today. Don’t procrastinate either! Procrastination is a dream killer. Put a little bit into it EVERYDAY, put it out there with positive thoughts as well, you will be surprised what doors will start to open for you. Please, don’t allow the negative feed back of others to drizzle on your flame. Better yet, don’t share your plans with too many people, especially if they are of the negative type.

No one ever got rich working for someone else right? Well, except for the corporate insurance executives… So, if you’re not one of them, you’d better get up off your keester and make your OWN wealth. Start today. I promise you won’t regret it.

“- If one can do anything, then two can change the world”  JGT believes in you, we know YOU CAN DO IT!

J Housley About J Housley
Who is J. Housley? This is me about thirty something years ago, cute huh? Even then, I always had something to talk about. I wanted to find a clever way to introduce myself to the Juicy Girl Talk community. So, I said to myself, “self, why not give the world your recipe?” And here it is, the ever-evolving recipe of me: Mix 2 parts witty, 3/4 cups determination, 32 ounces of candor, 2 gallons of excellent friend, 1 pint seriousness, a bit of sassiness, 1/2 jug optimism, a pinch of patience, 20 years of motherhood, 20 years of hair styling, several mistakes, a heap of advice, a cauldron of opinions, a pot of craziness, a lot of lessons, 6 liters of sexiness, a scoop of fashionista, loads of understanding, a handful of assertiveness, 1/2 drip shyness, countless drops of education, an unlimited amount of love, compassion, intelligence, and generosity. Now, throw in some brown sugar and bake, beat, blend, braise, broil, simmer, sift, shake and saute for about thirty plus years or so, or until golden brown. And there you have it, J. Housley. A little brown girl saying all the things you want to say and then some…

Wow, thank you so much for that. Seriously, I’m considering leaving my job to persue my dream of owning a bakery and sometime I get scared.

It’s alright to be scared, but never let it cripple you! Turn that fear into motivation and use it to fuel your progress. Whenever i am afraid of taking on a new endeavor I turn it into a competition in my mind- it’s me against the fear! And the fear never wins. it’s always a win-win for me because either way I benefit. First from conquering the fear, secondly from following through with my passion. Remember, you are in control of your destiny and it will be whatever you’d like as long as your thoughts and actions are aligned.
